These two pages will introduce the concepts of asexual reproduction, mutations, and the natural selection which all contribute to the development of resistance in bacterias to modern medicine.


Lastly, students will analyze and graph data which shows the percent of bacteria surviving in a patient who does not properly take her antibiotic. Extension questions prompt students to consider the ongoing problem of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria.
